Marie's (WingMoose) Moose Days Memories
Hi All, I've been putting off writing this because I'm still basking in the glow of the wonderful past weekend...and I'm not sure where to begin. I'm afraid I'm going to miss something, so I'll probably just ramble a bit.
First of all...I have to thank Cathy (Ya sure...you betcha) and Jerrilynn. Without their assistance, I probably would not have found my way to Roslyn...or back to the airport. By a cool stroke of luck (maybe the spirits were with me) I ran into Cathy at the Minneapolis airport...both of us on our way to Roslyn unbeknownst to the other. She graciously led me around like the little puppy dog that I am...and I followed her willingly to Roslyn. Then...by another incredible stroke of luck...Jerrilynn needed a ride to the airport on Monday. Guess what? She knew how to get BACK to the airport!!! Now...my husband chewed me out a bit...said I was supposed to do it all by myself...Well...(blush)...maybe next year!
The weekend was absolutely chock full of NX like moments. The sweet peas were blooming profusely in every little nook and cranny...and spilled colorfully from hills and between rocks. I loved the little mason jars filled with them on the tables. And the old school (Hal Weis Memorial Building, I think) made the perfect Tranquility Base. Great atmosphere and close to everything. The food was outstanding. The entertainment was excellent...thanks to Matt and Pat (I think) for the videos and music and script readings...and Linda for the wonderful trivia contest. At least someone from Minnesota came in first. Jesse would be proud! (our governor, for those of you who don't know him.)
I know Sandy (bless her beautiful little heart) wrote a wonderful review of the entire weekend and mentioned all the names of people who were instrumental in making it memorable...so I'll just add my "ME TOO" to her comments. You are all to be commended. I can't believe how much money was generated for the town. I'm sure the reputation of Moose Days...the reputation of NX fans in the eyes of the town...is on the rise. It can only get better. It felt really special to be a part of the very first Fan Fest. I have some really neat NX moments written down in my journals. Maybe we could start a thread of them? I want to finish this post and send it off before it gets too much longer. (Sorry to be so long-winded...there's just so much to say.)
Thanks to everyone.
Marie
