       Judy in Syracuse's Letter

Hello all who were lucky (?) enough to have their ears bent by yours truly over the course of 3 plus days...Thanks to Suzie, Linda, and Matthew for putting together one helluva weekend...thanks to the 501c3 team for making us legit...thanks to Barbara for pulling together the silent auction (such wonderful STUFF to bid on!)

I arrived in Syracuse, after leaving Seattle at midnight Sunday (3 a.m. Syracuse time) 9:30 this morning...had approximately 30 minutes sleep due to a lack of pillows and blankets on the aircraft and my racing mind, I suppose...went right to work for the spouse (check out his webpage kiddies, to get a 'trebuchet' fix... www.dreamscape.com/Koenig ). Did some paperwork (i.e., dropped my film off for developing) and was able to take a 45 minute nap a little while ago...

Some of my thoughts...

Funniest Moments:

bullet1. Homeless Matt stories
bullet2. Witnessing new friends dance on Ruth-Anne's grave
bullet3. Knowing all the trivia answers and not having the brass ones to enter and prove myself
bullet4. Getting folks' reactions and MISPRONOUNCED words on videotape
bullet5. Dan's 'behind the scenes stories' on the bus tour
bullet6. Eddie's t-shirt!
bullet7. Dancing with ALMOST EVERYONE (there are some nameless friends who owe me a dance) if they can rise to the challenge
bullet8. Hearing Barbara's name called every 'pull' from the raffle!
bullet9. Negotiating to get a video projector (long story--we can share it over cocktails NEXT year!)
bullet10. Thinking I can catch a cat-nap under the plum tree on the picnic table of the Roslyn Inn on a Sunday afternoon when the 'boys' next door don't know how to moderate their stereo.

Nicest Moments:

bullet1. Long walks around Roslyn on beautiful summer nights under a Cicely moon, till the wee hours of the morning
bullet2. First drive into town after a year away
bullet3. Chuck Greywolf's stories
bullet4. Having Jim "Heyden Keyes" Dunn walk up and say "hey--it's Syracuse!"
bullet5. Having Chuck Greywolf walk up and say "hey--New York!"
bullet6. Having Dan Dusek say "don't I know you?"
bullet7. Being with my 'best friends' and picking up on our face-to-face conversations as if we'd just parted yesterday
bullet7. Sunsets over the mountains

Saddest Moments:

bullet1. Not winning Linda's quilt (awwwwww...)
bullet2. Missing breakfast due to too much wine and dancing the night before (ha!)
bullet3. Not understanding Roslyn's unique speed traps
bullet4. Having the bartenders at the Brick holler "last call" just as I sit down with my first beer
bullet5. Hearing of Moultrie "Walt Kupfer" Patton's illness
bullet6. "The Last Supper" Sunday night at Village Pizza
bullet7. Saying goodbye to some very special people and some folks I love

I wish I were a poet, or perhaps were less buzzed from lack of sleep...but this year was the best ever...and, if miracles happen, perhaps we'll all get together again SAME TIME NEXT YEAR!
